A modern-day detective story set in Manchester's soho - the Northern Quarter. This series sets a gripping murder-mystery against the backdrop of Manchester's hedonistic gay nightlife. Northern Quarter is Neon-Noir, delivered across a range of digital platforms.
Picking up where Queer as Folk and Twin Peaks left off, Northern Quarter unravels a complex murder-mystery using a combination of episodes, social networking, micro-blogging, messaging and live events to immerse its audience.
When sexy young Ryan is murdered during a cyber-sex session by an unseen killer, his only witness is the mysterious viewer on the other side of the webcam.
Sean, 26, is MD of his own PR agency which positions him at the centre of the Northern Quarter scene. It’s also the first place that the suspect, Greg, turns to help clear his name. As Sean turns detective, he encounters a host of characters who could all be either the murderer or the witness, to reveal a complex tale of secrets, lies, videotape, sex and betrayal.
Leah, Sean’s best friend, is the only one that knows Sean, and will always protect him. As a DJ and club promoter, she is at the heart of the Northern Quarter. She is sorted, savvy and sexy. Many viewers will recognise Leah as a judge from our reality show – ClubKids
Alongside the episodes, NorthernQuarter and ClubKids combine facebook, myspace, youtube, twitter, flickr, messenger and live club-nights to deliver a fully immersive entertainment experience.
Sean Coleman is co-producer and co-writer of Northern Quarter and ClubKids alongside Tom Gabbutt of Capsule Films
